Urban Vitality in Texas

Texas cities have been identified by researchers at The Center for Opportunity Urbanism as ‘America’s Next Boom Towns.’ The Texas Business Journals will partner with the center to conduct and share new research on the growing economic vitality in Texas. Find out why everything is bigger in Texas, including the business economy.

The program will build on the center’s recent national study which identified the cities most likely to boom in the next decade, analyzing the 52 largest MSAs in the country across 8 metrics indicative of past, present and future vitality. All 4 Texas’ major metro areas made the top ten. Each enjoyed double-digit job growth from 2010-2014 – beating the national average of 8.1%.
